Most sessions are weekly and 50 minutes in length, but frequency depends on you. Plan on 90 minutes for your initial visit and then give yourself time before returning to your activities that day. Is therapy helpful? Therapy has proven to be in helping to relieve the symptoms of depression and anxiety. It also is helpful for grief, trauma, change in life, marital problems, and personal growth. What if I am considering medication? Medication can often be helpful, but not for all symptoms or all people. If you are interested in medication we will discuss working with your primary care doctor or a psychiatrist in your network. How long can I expect to be in therapy? The length of therapy is dependent on many factors, including your goals, how often you attend sessions, your level of motivation for change, and the concerns you are bringing to therapy. |
